Our Shop Needs You!!

The Community Shop has become an integral part of our village life. This success relies on the volunteers who staff the shop and help in other ways. But we do need to increase our pool of volunteers.

  • Do you enjoy meeting new people and chatting to fellow villagers?
  • Do you enjoy lending a helping hand to those who require one?
  • Do you enjoy being a part of an active community?
  • Do you have a few hours to spare during the week or at weekends?

You are just the person that our shop is looking for.

At times, we struggle to cover all the volunteer shifts in our shop, particularly at peak holiday periods, so it would be wonderful to have a larger pool of volunteers to draw on. You don’t have to commit to a regular shift each week. Some of our volunteers do no more than one shift a month and others fill in gaps in the rota where they can.

We can also provide retail skills training for young volunteers participating in the Duke of Edinburgh Award scheme

Shifts are:

Monday – Friday

7.30 -10.00, 10.00 – 13.30

13.30 – 16.30

Saturday

7.15-10.00, 10.00-13.45

Sunday

7.30-10.00, 10.00-11.45

We also need help "behind the scenes" with activities like restocking shelves and generally keeping the shop clean and smart.

If you think that you might be able to help, why don’t you pop into the shop and have a word with our manager, Shonna Allan, or one of our existing volunteers and find out more?

See also here for the many ways in which you could help to keep the shop running and successful.
