We need you!

Gawsworth Community Shop is looking for new volunteers to bring their skills to the organisation and help us as we enter a new and exciting phase for the shop.

What we are looking for:

We are looking for volunteers to help with a range of opportunities, to help us expand the business to better serve the needs of the community. There are opportunities in the shop, behind the scenes, and on the Board.

Gawsworth Community Shop Ltd, a Community Benefit Society, was established in 2010 for the benefit of the inhabitants of the parish of Gawsworth through the takeover and management of the last remaining shop in the village. In addition to providing a local store for the village, the shop encourages a sense of community within the village and a place of social interchange and source of information. The shop is financially viable and is fully owned by its shareholders (members). With the exception of two part time paid supervisors, the shop is run by volunteers and is open 7 days per week. As a registered Mutual Society, the shop is regulated by the FCA.
